“Knowledges in Motion” Conference, Humboldt University Berlin, 20.-22.03.2025
On March 20-22, 2025, the Fourteenth Biannual Conference of CAAR, the Collegium for African American Research, titled “Knowledges in Motion: Black Travels, Belonging, and Transformations,” will be hosted at Humboldt University Berlin, Germany.
The conference, by the Department of English and American Studies, investigates African American and African diasporic literary and cultural production, critiques, and contributions to emergent scholarly discourses and epistemologies.
Workshop features a presentation on McKay by Laura Ryan. McKay scholar Rich Cole (University of Leuven) will present on the African American writer William Gardner Smith, who worked as a journalist in Paris during the Algerian War.
